In 2004, longtime patrons, Fred and Lena Meijer, helped to initiate a $10 million renovation of the Civic Theatre with their lead gift. The beautiful facility we have today is a result of the generous donations from the Meijers and other community leaders, and the commitment of Grand Action, a nonprofit organization that acts as a catalyst for downtown revitalization. The improvements provide greater patron comfort, increased access for those with disabilities or limited mobility, and a greater experience for volunteers and students of the theatre.
"RAISE THE CURTAIN!"
With this newly enhanced facility we are committed to make operational improvements that will guarantee our continued ability to provide exceptional quality entertainment and theatre arts training programs in West Michigan for generations to come. Our goal through our "Raise the Curtain!" campaign is to double our existing endowment fund to over $2 Million dollars in order to cover the increasing costs of maintaining our beautiful facility, and continue to provide our services to the community - today and tomorrow.
